The CPU of the Snapdragon 675 integrates 2 ARM Cortex-A76 Gold Cores operating at up to 2.00GHz clock speed and other 6 Cortex-A55 Silver Cores at 1.80GHz clock speed while the newer Snapdragon 678 has 2 ARM Cortex-A76 Gold Cores clocked at up to 2.20GHz and 6 Cortex-A55 Silver Cores at 1.80GHz clock speed.

Here the performance cores of the Snapdragon 678 have a better clock speed than the Snapdragon 675. Here is the first improvement in the newer Snapdragon 678 chipset.

GPU

Now coming to the GPU part, here the Snapdragon 675 features the Adreno 612 GPU while the Snapdragon 678 also has the Adreno 612 GPU. The company claims the GPU of the newer Snapdragon 678 Is more powerful and efficient in comparison to its predecessor. Here is the second upgrade in the newer Snapdragon 678.

For performing AI tasks, the Snapdragon 675 features Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP which is a 1st Gen AI Engine while the Snapdragon 678 also has a Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP which is a 3rd Gen AI Engine. So here also the newer Snapdragon 678 has an improvement.
